Getting Started
Overview | As an introduction to Pilates you are required to attend three introductory classes:
– 1 Assessment Following the introductory classes your options are: – Studio |
Assessment | At your Assessment we will examine your history, your body biomechanics and discuss exercise programs and goals.
This involves the physical assessment of your posture, range of movement and core strength, as well as some introductory Pilates exercises. If you have any Xrays, MRIs or medical reports, please bring them with you. |
2 x Private Classes | On completing your Assessment, two Private classes will introduce you to the equipment and begin teaching a Pilates program appropriate to your level of ability.
When you have completed your introductory classes you will be ready to join the studio sessions. We recommend that you attend twice a week for your first 10 sessions, to ensure you obtain a good understanding of your body and appropriate exercises. |
Studio | Building on the foundation of your introductory classes, you will learn and progress through structured programs in our fully equipped studio.
You can attend Studio classes on an ongoing basis. Our Instructor will guide and monitor all clients through their individual programs. With a maximum of five clients exercising independently in the Studio, these classes cater for all levels of ability. |
Re-Assessment | After your initial ten sessions in the Studio, we would like to see you for a re-assessment (Private session) with an Instructor.
We use these sessions as a check-up on your progress and to prepare you for Allegro classes – should this be appropriate. We recommend regular re-assessments every 6 months. |
Allegro | You may complement your Studio sessions by attending Allegro classes on a regular basis.
With a maximum of six clients (of a similar level) our Instructor will lead and monitor a group class on Pilates reformers. |
Private / Semi Private |
We also offer Private and Semi Private sessions for clients who prefer to work individually with an instructor on an ongoing basis.
